The 2013 Carl Casper\’s Custom Auto Show
Back in 1963, Carl Casper brought a few of his customs out to share with the public. That first show would lead to 55 years of bringing smiles to one and all in Louisville, and beyond, as he would co-produce or partner with 1,000 custom car shows across the United States.
And what a collection he had in 2013. On his side of the floor, three generations of the Batmobile, the General Lee, and Arthur Fonzerelli\’s Triumph chilled with Casper\’s own customs, including the Empress, the Knight Cruiser, and the Vanturian.
2013 Lowrider Hopping Nationals
Over in Freedom Hall, all sorts of lowriders gathered on the floor. Some were there to show off the custom body and paint work, others were there to bounce as high as they could to snag the top prize in the Lowrider Hopping Nationals.
Alas, the lowriders left the expo center after 2017, when Carl Casper retired from organizing and producing his namesake show.
