Review: 2020 Mazda CX-9 Signature

When one hears the name Mazda, rotaries are almost always the first to come to mind. After all, the RX-7 put the Japanese automaker squarely on the map in a way the rest of its siblings hadn\’t. The unique sports car carried the triangles through three generations before handing them off to the final rotary Mazda, the RX-8 around the turn of the millennium.

Other times, though, Miata is always the answer. Through four generations to date, the little roadster\’s made driving and racing a ton of fun with little more than itself, plus some aftermarket upgrades as needed.

And as it turns out, Mazda\’s pretty good at the crossover game, too. I recently had the honor of welcoming the 2020 CX-9 Signature to my home near the Highway for a week-long residency, one delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic by a few months.

It was worth the wait, though.
